Staying in a slaughter house called moral high ground

I recently went to GHMC to re-register my name in voter list. There were hardly any people there, for a change, this time it is applicants absense not the employees of the corporation. The clerk gave me all info that is required for getting voter card. I asked the clecrk collecting the applications, how many applications have come from morning till the evening, his answer was just 3. Yes , it is THREE. That gave me fuel to write this blog.

Common man in India has one great quality that has been conveniantly used by many rulers. Be it the rulers from English Land or be it their own democratically elected leaders.
OK OK, coming to the quality, it is MORAL HIGH-GROUND. We have repeatedly learnt or taught that to question a wrong you need to be right. What a great escape route invented by all opputunists. I donot know where is the reference for it in the culture. I do not know where is the reference for it in constituton of India. There are enough stories created around this priciple to convince the common man. These stories are repeated multiple times to make them beleive it is correct.
This allowed the politicialns getting away easily by questioning the opposition when it questions the wrong.
This allowed every wrong to be justified solely on the basis that my predecessor too was wrong.
This allowed 75 lakh crores of tax payer's money to fly out of the country, only to re-enter for wrong deeds.
This gave license to rulers to kill people by supplying drinking water. Lot of potable water supplied by muncipalities is nothing less than poison. I often wonder why the farmers growing cotton spend money to buy insecticides for suicide. They could easily die by drinking municipal water.
This allowed roads to be ful of pot holes
This allowed everyone to not question their ward counsellor for pathetic state of affairs.
This allowed Land mafia.
I can go on and on and on .....List grows..

I fail to understand the reference to this beutiful lie, taught again and again to everyone. Self pity and moral slavery these seem to be the greatest problems india faces today.

I was taught in childhood that it is sin if we do not question wrong. Each sin has four equal takers
  • The sinner himself
  • The promoter of the sin
  • The person who enjoys reciting it
  • The person does not question it despite of being in such position

Does not our constitution ask for fundamental duties to be performed by people. We are definitely enjoying fundamental rights, why are we not doing our duty. I need not spend single paise for questioning!!! Is it so difficult? I do not think so. Ask the government to act is not difficult!!! Electing the honest people is not difficult!!!. Do not say there are no candidates who are honest. If all the food is rotten, we eat the least rotten during famine. That gives us enough energy to find still better food. Honestly, have we even attempted a correction. I do not think there is a great effort needed for it. We just need to think about right thing that should be done by ruler. We all gain by it. We do not loose anything by doing it.

All the advanced countries are ruled by humans only. The common people there too do wrongs. But, while choosing their leaders, they choose the cleanest. The cleanest did not come in first attempt. They just stayed focused on right. It helped everyone. you may say we kno, we know...Then why are we not doig it!!!

I think it is the same old story MORAL SLAVEY
